the dream team

It is with much excitement that we introduce Nate and Kristen, a couple of dog lovers whom we are very lucky to have running the show at our Hound House Club. With over 30 years of combined experience in dog training and boarding, as well as canine dietary and nutritional needs, this well-rounded and practiced husband and wife team are the ideal handlers for your canine family members, specializing in building deep connections with dogs based on trust, respect, and love.

Nate grew up with dogs and has always felt a strong kinship with animals. After college and a brief stint in the corporate world, he moved from Ohio to Austin, where he worked as a pet sitter and dog walker, eventually starting his own business in the field. He adopted a Staffordshire Terrier named Dojo, who taught him about dog management, leadership, and the importance of daily enrichment. A natural with dogs, Nate’s relaxed and knowing presence creates a safe and secure environment for dogs to be themselves.

Kristen, from a young age, had a love for dogs and found much enjoyment in spending time with her family’s animals. Caring for two pugs of her own sparked an interest in working with dogs and canine nutrition professionally, leading her to explore making her own dog food. In Austin, Kristen was a foster parent for Dallas Pug Rescue. She fostered over 100 pugs over the course of several years and was a founding member of Pug Rescue of Austin – one pug/cattle dog mix, named Kibbie, stole her heart and remained with Kristen :). Her years working with rescues deepened her knowledge of dog training, daily needs, and how to manage multiple dogs with different personalities. Certified in canine nutrition in 2020, Kristen went on to launch a side business as a canine nutrition consultant. She continues to foster her passion through nutrition courses, books, and mentorship and is the chef behind our own Hound House raw dog food!

This passionate and professional duo, along with their 1-year-old pug, Kapo, are ready to welcome your dogs into their new home away from home and create lasting memories (and good habits) for all of your furry friends.
